Backup Via iTunes

Your notes, sketches and other data will be deleted when you delete and reinstall the Noteshelf app so always make sure you have a backup of your previous data in your computer.

To back up your notes onto your computer, do the following:

  1. Connect your new iPad to your PC/Mac and open iTunes on your PC/Mac.
  2. Select your device in iTunes then click on "Apps" then scroll down to the "File Sharing" section to select Noteshelf. You'll see a folder named “Noteshelf.data” in the documents section. This is the data you need to backup.
  3. Drag it to a secure location on your desktop or any other folder.

For Windows users: If drag-drop does not work, use the “Save to..” button instead.

To restore the data back into your iPad:

  1. Connect your new iPad to your PC/Mac and open iTunes on your PC/Mac.
  2. In iTunes go to "Your iPad" >> "Apps" tab >> scroll down to "iTunes File Sharing" >> select "Noteshelf" in the list.
  3. Here you should see a folder named "Noteshelf.data" in the "Documents" box. Just drag the backed up folder on your desktop & drop it over to this folder in iTunes.
  4. Say "yes" to the overwrite confirmation. And that's it, you have now restored your data back in your iPad.

For Windows users: If you're having any issues with this, pl try after compressing (zip) the “Noteshelf.data” folder on your desktop first then, drag it from your desktop over to this folder in iTunes. Pl also note that if you zip your file, you can ignore the 'Over write' confirmation step.
