iCloud Sync Issues? Here’s how to troubleshoot

Are you facing any of the following issues –

-iPhone is not syncing with the data on your iPad
-iCloud is showing as ON in both the in-app & also the iPad Settings but the data is not synced in the app
-Some of your notebooks are showing a ‘circle’ / loading gesture on them and it never finishes this process

We recommend turning ON Dropbox / OneDrive Auto-Backup & wait for the backup to complete for all the notebooks selected, before troubleshooting the above mentioned iCloud sync issues by following these steps –

-Restart your devices as this usually fixes any minor issues

-Make sure iCloud Drive is enabled on all the devices using the same Apple ID
In the Settings app of your iPad, go to “iCloud”, and ensure that “iCloud Drive” is enabled for the app.

-Use the same Apple ID/ iCloud account on all your devices
Open the Settings app of your iPad-> go to “iCloud”->verify that the same account is shown on each device.

-Ensure that iCloud Drive can use cellular data
If you’re using cellular data, see if iCloud and Noteshelf have permission to use cellular data (Settings > Cellular)

-Make sure there is enough free space on your device & in your iCloud account

-And that there is no ‘Pending’ action in the iCloud section of the Settings app on your iPad

-Make sure first if your iCloud backup exists or not via the Settings app on your iPad
->Under your iCloud account->Manage storage -> Noteshelf app -> Documents

-Finally, try turning off and re-enabling the iCloud to see if the notes sync back properly
You can do this via the iPad’s Settings app->Your iCloud account->iCloud->Scroll down to Noteshelf app and toggle the switch off & on. Pls do not do this from within the in-app iCloud setting as that will cause duplicate notebooks when you later enable the iCloud again from within the app (one local & one iCloud copy).

Apart from the above issues, if you’re noticing that the notebooks are becoming grayed out often, pls take note that since you’re using the iCloud sync feature, whenever the Apple’s iCloud mechanism clears the iCloud Cache, the book needs to be downloaded again in the app. We actually do not have any control over the timing aspect of this iCloud cache clearing mechanism by Apple. If you keep your books locally and use the Dropbox/OneDrive auto backup features instead of the iCloud then, the books will always be available on your iPad. We’re working with Apple on this to see if there’s a better way to handle this method.

I have tried all of the above suggestions. In my settings, it shows that Noteshelf is taking up 2.6GB of storage in iCloud. I have two documents in a notebook that are there on my iPad, gray, and when I touch on them the circle shows up but never downloads. I also sent a support request.
