How to Set Up WebDAV for Backup in Noteshelf 3?

Backing up your notes is essential to keep your work safe. If you prefer using your private cloud, WebDAV is a great option. Noteshelf 3 supports WebDAV, allowing you to connect to services like CloudMe, NextCloud, or ownCloud and back up your notebooks to a specific folder.

This guide will walk you through what WebDAV is, how it works with Noteshelf 3, and how to set it up step by step.

What is WebDAV?

WebDAV stands for Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning. It’s a protocol that allows you to access, manage, and edit files stored on a remote server just like they’re on your local device.

For example, by connecting Noteshelf 3 to a WebDAV-supported service like CloudMe, you can safely back up your notebooks to your cloud storage.

How Does It Work with Noteshelf 3?

When a WebDAV server is connected:

  • Noteshelf 3 uploads your notebooks to a selected folder in your cloud storage.

  • Your notes are stored securely and remain accessible in your private cloud.
